Tigunait is a specialist in sustainable development focused on environmental and community regeneration. He is currently serving as Director of Strategic Development for the Himalayan International Institute. Mr. Tigunait leads the Himalayan Institute's humanitarian and international development efforts which aim to provide lasting social transformation through integrated rural sustainable development.

 

 

 

Mr. Tigunait has an extensive social entrepreneurial background in the nascent field of Energy Farming, having been a director of Roshini Biotech and founder/director of several other leading sustainable biofuel plantation companies in India, Africa, and the Americas. Roshini Biotech, headquartered in Hyderabad, India, is a market leader in Indian biofuels plantation, specializing in cultivation of Pongamia pinnata and Jatropha plants. Upon acquisition of Human Energy Uganda and strategic investment by London‐based venture capital firm Origo Sino‐India (origoplc.com) in 2007, Roshini was re‐structured as RIBEC (Roshini International Bioenergy Corp ‐ www.ribecplc.com).

 

 

 

Mr. Tigunait worked with IBM for almost two years as a software engineer in z/OS (OS390) System Test team based in Poughkeepsie, NY.

 


Mr. Tigunait holds a degree Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering from Pennsylvania State University, Schreyer Honors College, and Beta Kappa Nu.
